As part of our music video, we decided to shoot, as part of our narrative, at the Almondsbury Social Club annual firework display. This was to link into our theme of light as well as linking to the lyrics 'chasing highs'. We plan to use some of the footage as part of our chorus, as well as having its own verse. This is some of the raw footage we plan to cut and edit:



Sunday 19th November

On Sunday, we decided to film a clip for verse 2, however because of how busy the location was, we had to find another suitable for what we wanted. We found a park local to the location we were in close to a cathedral. We had to take a few shots due to shadows appearing in the scene as well as people appearing in the background.  We have took these 3 clips from different angles so that we can decide on which on we prefer to use in our final piece.

 

 

UV Light Practise

In order to create our performance element, we decided that we would film in the dark using a UV light and paint. Here we have tested out two paint colours against the UV light in order to see the colours and the lights effect in the dark:

Video Light Practise

As we have decided to film a few takes in the dark to show the lighted up locations, we purchased a video light for our filming so that the lighting in our final product is not different in different takes. Here we have played around with intensity of the light in order to see its effect and the different filters in order to see what effects we can create:

What Have I Learnt?

During this task, I have learnt that it is important to plan out what days you and your group are/not available in order to find out what day is suitable. It is also good to plan when you have to do certain tasks as you may miss the deadline. 

Final Location Checks

For our final preparation, we looked at our two locations and took images so that we would have a better idea in our heads of where each verse and line will be shot. We also needed to check that the location was suitable for our video. We chose these locations because they are every day places that will suit our narrative.
