Song Idea's
We picked the song 'Chasing Highs' by Alma as it is a very upbeat, happy and energetic song that we feel we can do a lot with. Furthermore, when listening to the song, we had many idea's of what we could include in the narrative and therefore felt it was the best song for us. When looking at the other music videos, although upbeat and happy, we did not have as many ideas as we did for 'Chasing Highs'. Ideas's of the sort of location and actors we would like to use also influenced our decision.
For this task, we looked at various songs from various genres, but after some research and a talk as a group, we came up with many idea's for the pop genre. We chose this music because of its energy and upbeat music and videos that engages audiences. With the idea of Pop in mind, we looked at many songs and decided to go with Alma's 'Chasing Highs' as many idea's of camera angles, mise en scene and props jumped to our minds that would allow s to create a narrative and a performance element to our final piece. I have learnt that communication is key in deciding an idea as well as giving suggestions to create a good idea.
